Miguel was born in Lisbon, Portugal (1971), married, and father of two. He has a wide-ranging leadership expertise in scientific research, commercial management, operations, and quality, environmental and social corporate responsibility.
24+ years of professional experience in diverse roles within world-class zoological, educational and conservation institutions, including comprehensive conceptual design, construction, project management, biological and life-support planning and maintenance, commercial, operations, regulatory affairs, safety and security, information, IT management, stakeholder management and governance.
Miguel holds a PhD in Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences, speciality in Marine Biodiversity and several post-graduations, namely in Safety, Security and Emergency Management; Quality and Environment Management Systems; Project Management; Exhibit Management; Creative Leadership and General Data Protection Regulation (EU).
Miguel is an active participant in several associative non-profit organizations related to conservation, education and sports.
