André Barata Moura, born in September 14th 1972, is graduated in Economics by Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. André joined Turismo de Lisboa – Visitors Convention Bureau in 1998, to work in research and statistics and was part of the team that created Lisbon’s Tourism Observatory in 1999.
André is the Head of Research and Statistics at Turismo de Lisboa since 2003, which means he’s in charge of coordinating the Observatory’s activities.
The main activities of this body are analyzing tourism activity in Lisbon, studying tourism demand, monitoring Turismo de Lisboa’s promotion activities, and cooperating in strategic planning. André represents Turismo de Lisboa at European Cities Marketing (ECM), being an active member of ECM’s Research and Statistics Knowledge Group.
André presently coordinates the activities of an informal group of 11 European cities (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Lisbon, London, Munich, Paris, Vienna and Zurich) called the Benchmark Group, that develops common work in the field of research and statistics in city tourism.
