The Sustainability Conference 2020

The colour green, while being Ireland’s national colour, has also become synonymous globally with the development of an entire range of Sustainability initiatives. In Ireland, green or sustainability initiatives encompass research, business partnerships and are a driver of manufacturing strength, innovation and collaboration.

Portugal likewise has strong credentials in this area with significant renewable energy programmes, University and Industry led Research initiatives and Municipal Authorities and State Agencies who are at the forefront of implementing Sustainable solutions to everything from urban mobility solutions to building rehabilitation and development.

As part of the 2020 St Patrick’s Day celebrations and to celebrate Lisbon’s tenure as Green Capital of Europe 2020, the IPBN is hosting an event to further collaboration and increase partnerships between both countries in the area of Sustainability.

Developments in Building Technology and the Built Environment:
Implications for Sustainable Economic Development

We have assembled panels of experts from Industry, Commerce, Research, State Agencies and the Municipal Authorities who have a mutual interest in developing joint Ireland / Portugal opportunities and sharing knowledge and information. Our aim is to create an environment to help participants become aware of activities in the field from both countries and allowing them to share knowledge, form collaborations and partnerships and ultimately increase trading activity between the two countries.

The forum will include case studies of new thinking and applications that solved real world problems in the areas of building, urban renewal and regeneration, highlighting how they can lessen environmental impact while being a driver of sustainable economic activity.

Confirmed participants to date include
